Competitions are the crown of olive growers’ life. You struggle all year long. You plow, dig, prune, extract tons of branches from olive groves, fertilize, protect trees from pests, irrigate (some by pulling 25 liter canisters of water on olive groves), break down and repair tractors and equipment, get up at 5 AM and go to bed at 9 PM to endure the next day … and I just started listing. That’s why competitions somewhat alleviate suffering, pain and torment. Because you get the impression that the profession recognizes all that effort.
Then you anxiously awaiting for the announcement of the awards at the world’s largest competition of top extra virgin olive oils and that is not easy. However, when you open the contest organizer’s portal and receive a notification like this, every problem immediately disappears and joy arises ?
NYIOOC 2022 – Gold for Bilini
This year again the judging panel of the most famous and largest competition of the world’s top extra virgin olive oils decided to award our EVOO Bilini the Gold Award ?
We are overjoyed.
The news of the gold award at NYIOOC 2022 caught me in our olive grove, just after a scratch caused by a “naughty” larger branch that I pulled out of the orchard after pruning.
From year to year, we strive to make our oil top quality and to keep our customers satisfied.
Gold in New York is a confirmation of the undeniable continuity of the highest quality of our extra virgin olive oil.
We don’t have the award-statuette yet. It yet has to be ordered, so by the time it arrives to our house … time will pass.
