This year, for the third time, we decided to send a bottle of Bilini extra virgin olive oil to one of the most prestigious global competitions for premium olive oils – the Berlin Global Olive Oil Awards (Berlin GOOA 2024).
We have just received notification from the organizers of the competition that Bilini extra virgin olive oil has been awarded a gold medal in Berlin.
We are overjoyed, especially since the dominant number of foreign buyers of Bilini oil are from German-speaking countries.

The Berlin Global Olive Oil Awards (Berlin GOOA) 2024 is a prestigious competition that recognizes excellence in olive oil production on a global scale. More than 700 samples of olive oil from more than 22 countries were registered for this year’s competition. The competition includes blind tasting by expert panels to ensure impartiality and high standards in judging (Mediterrolio) (BioArmonia).
This competition has become a significant event in the olive oil industry, attracting a wide range of producers from various countries, including major olive oil producers such as Spain, Italy, Greece and others. The awards include categories such as the Quality Olive Oil Award, the Quality Organic Olive Oil Award and the Infused Olive Oil Award, among others (Berlin GOOA | Global Olive Oil Awards).
For the Berlin GOOA competition, the accuracy, transparency and inviolability of the evaluation results are a top priority. In order to further strengthen the evaluation process, the Berlin GOOA panel conducted a double check of the results through organoleptic and laboratory analysis on 45% of the engaged tasters’ evaluations. This gives a kind of additional degree of confidence, that the published results fully reflect the value of the extra virgin olive oil that participated in the competition.
