Eighth Gold in New York for Bilini – A Confirmation of Exceptional Quality
Bilini extra virgin olive oil won its eighth gold in New York at NYIOOC 2026. Another important proof of top quality 🏆
Nothing could stop us today from attending the presentation event of the guide of the world’s best olive oils – Flos Olei 2017. The manifestation was held in the beautiful Golf Adriatic club near Savudrija (North-Western Istria). The perfect organization was courtesy of Tourist board of Istria. Kudos to Denis, Marko, Kristina and all others included in organizing this event. It was impeccable.

The official part of the event started around 1:30 PM. Speeches were held by Mr. Valter Flego, Mayor of Istrian county, Mr. Denis Ivošević, director of Istrian tourist board, and – last but not least, the event’s guest, Mr. Marco Oreggia. Mr. Oreggia is the editor in chief of the Flos Olei guide, therefore it was only logic that his speech took the most time. He put a special emphasis on the growing importance of Istria on the global olive oil scene. Although the quantity of olive oil generated by Istrian producers is indeed small compared to the global giants in the business (primarily Italy, Spain and Greece), our strength lies in extreme quality.

We already wrote about our pride and happiness when we were informed that our extra virgin olive oil Bilini is included in the Flos Olei 2017 guide. Today we became proud owners of the printed copy of the guide. Every Istrian producer included in the guide got his copy of the guide from Mr. Oreggia. Our EVOO Bilini is on page 583. 🙂

The atmosphere during the presentation was phenomenal. The invitees included giants of Istrian olive oil scene (Agrolaguna Poreč, Chiavalon etc.) However, the majority were smaller quantity producers such as our family farm and our friends (pictured below is Ms. Marija Vareško, the owner of Dolija 08 LTD) :

After the guide-handing protocol ended, a refreshment was served in the same room. Hereby I would like to send a big commendation to the employees of Golf Adriatic Skiper. Waiters were ubiquitous and unobtrusive at the same time. The food was delicious. All was perfect indeed.
After we left the event it was too late to return to the office. However, it was not too late to visit our olive groves in the village of Rakovci and continue the process of restoration of some of our olive tress. Below is a detail from today afternoon. 🙂

Finally we came home. Somewhat tired. 🙂
