We\u2019ve just finished this year\u2019s olive harvest<\/strong>. For our family farm, the 2025 harvest was both the most successful and the most challenging so far<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A Broken Ankle During Pruning<\/h2>\n

While pruning the olive trees this spring, I broke my right ankle<\/strong>. That put me out of action for at least a month and a half.<\/p>\n

Still, I didn\u2019t give up. I kept exercising regularly \u2014 walking, swimming, anything I could \u2014 and by the end of June I was already back working in the groves.<\/p>\n

However, the discomfort and pain related to the fracture kept coming back during the heavy work of this year\u2019s harvest.<\/p>\n

Preparing the Groves (September \u2013 October)<\/h2>\n

From the last week of September<\/strong> until the start of the harvest (October 16), we mowed the groves. Before mowing, we also pruned shoots from the roots of many trees.<\/p>\n
