Below are the contents of the e-mail we received from the organizers of the Berlin Global Olive Oil Awards yesterday, with the announcement of winning the gold medal for olive oil Bilini:

Dear Producers and Partners,

We are delighted to announce the official results of the winners of Berlin Global Olive Oil Awards 2022.

Since the inception of the competition, by a team of passionate professionals with true knowledge and interest of the olive oil industry and business world, the progress which has been achieved is remarkable.

For a third consecutive year, despite the precarious period the world is still experiencing, our competition has continued its upside momentum. This is a clear confirmation of the appreciation and trust from the side of the EVOO producers. The systematic work we do and ethical standards we keep, towards a credible and transparent Global EVOO competition is recognized.

Berlin Global Olive oil Awards 2022 – In Brief

For this year’s competition, we accepted and evaluated 891 registered EVOO samples (+17% YoY). We also managed to expand our geographical footprint, attracting producers from 28 countries. 

We would like to congratulate the winners of Berlin Global Olive Oil Awards 2022, for their outstanding performance and success to induct their EVOOS into the league of Global Elite Olive Oils.

However, our thoughts go to those producers who didn’t succeed to receive an award. This certainly should not be a disappointment. Rather, it should be the beginning of a period of reassessment and organizing the production chain. That would eventually pave the way for later success. Our team is always at the disposal of all the EVOO producers for any further assistance and guidance.

Also, we would like to thank all the members of our evaluation team for their professionalism and fantastic collaboration. We are proud of having built a strong assessment team with true knowledge and positive spirit. We are looking forward of strengthening even more our relationship in the various actions that we will take soon.

In Berlin GOOA, the accuracy, transparency, and inviolability of the evaluation results, constitute our major priority. To strengthen this part of the evaluation process, the Berlin GOOA judging committee has conducted a double verification of the results. This was done via organoleptic and laboratory analysis on 45% of our tasters’ scoring. We believe this adds an extra layer of confidence to us, that the published results utterly reflect the value of the participated EVOO.

In the current week all the winners will receive a direct email to login into the producer’s account. There they will be able to download the electronic printable version of their certifications.
